I believe I was the first of our class to deploy to Vietnam in 1965 and I think Bill was the first of our class to die there. We had a "brotherhood-in-arms" bond and I'm so sorry he wasn't as fortunate as me.
I knew Bill well. We have had a long time to deal with the feelings of loss, but it doesn't seem to get any easier. Bill was a wild guy and we all loved him because of it. I will take my memories of Bill with me. He was a man to be reckoned with! -Rick Clifton
